Wyze has filed a lawsuit against Xiaomi over robotic vacuum cleaner product dispute. In this lawsuit proprietary rights of Xiaomi over US patent 10,271,699 (Autonomous Cleaning Device) has been under question.
Wyze had listed its robot vacuum cleaner on Amazon, however it got delisted on the site due to not resolving IP dispute with Xiaomi. Upon which Wyze decided to take legal path and filed case in Seattle Court, seeking invalidity of patent in question. They seem to have cited four prior arts in the complaint.
In the meantime, in line with Amazon’s policy on matters of such nature, the conflicting Wyze product may remain off the shelves until the complete determination of the case.
As per the article on “gizmochina”: Amazon stressed in communications with Wyze that the owner of the Patent was asserting infringement by Wyze. Amazon thus put a restriction on the continued sale of the Wyze robotic vacuum cleaner on its platform, pending the resolution of the issue via several alternative ways.
